Exagen is a patient-focused and discovery-driven life sciences company dedicated to transforming the care continuum for patients suffering from debilitating and chronic autoimmune diseases.  Our goal is to enable rheumatologists to improve care for patients through the differential diagnosis, prognosis, and monitoring of complex autoimmune and autoimmune-related diseases, including lupus and rheumatoid arthritis.  By leveraging our proprietary Cell-Bound Complement Activation Products, or CB-CAPs, technology, we help get to the real cause of a patient’s symptoms and guide their journey to improved health.

 

About the Opportunity:

The Senior Sales Operations Analyst, leads analysis and support for Commercial leadership, focusing on evaluating the performance of our diagnostic products and delivering reports on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis. They provide actionable insights and conduct ad-hoc analyses to inform key business decisions, while offering comprehensive field analytic support. Acting as an analytics partner, they collaborate closely with Finance, Sales, Marketing, and Provider Relations teams. In addition, they support sales and field operations by identifying and analyzing key issues and business opportunities within sales territories, regions, and areas. Regularly meeting with Executive and Sales leadership, they share findings, discuss potential impacts, and suggest behavior adjustments. This role reports to the Associate Vice President FP&A and works closely with the VP of Sales.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the territory alignment processes. Identify opportunities through analysis to improve territory efficiency and maximize sales.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify KPIs and develop automated, timely reporting for analysis and review.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses for all levels of the commercial team.
  • Lead the design and on-going administration of sales incentive compensation plans. Build appropriate reporting and tracking for key stakeholders.
  • Cultivate strong partnerships with senior sales leadership, including C-suite and VPs, as well as regional managers, to align analytical support with field sales objectives.
  • Serve as a key analytics liaison with Finance, IT, Sales, and occasionally with Marketing and Provider Relations teams to ensure the seamless integration of analytics into commercial strategies and operational workflows.
  • Build strong relationships and routine communications to drive the successful implementation of sales operations initiatives, processes, and technologies.
  • Collaborate closely with Finance leadership to develop and refine quarterly and yearly volume forecasting strategies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA a plus
  • 3 - 5 years of progressive leadership experience in sales operations and analytics within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or medical device industries.
  • Skilled at building relationships and handling interpersonal interactions.
  • Experience effectively collaborating within a matrix environment and with colleagues across functions and geographies.
  • Results-oriented creative thinker who is viewed as a collaborative strategic business partner with an ability to influence without authority.
  • Detail-oriented, self-starter, able to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to interpret and convey data into a simple, compelling story both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience with data modeling, understanding database structures to inform effective data architecture and analytics.
  • Experience with third party data (IQVIA, IMS, Symphony Health, Quadax).
  • Expert Excel skills required.
  • Experience with data analytics platforms (PowerBI, Tableau) required.
  • Working knowledge of SQL with the ability to develop code, preferred.

Salary range: $100,000 - $115,000
