The Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) in Flow Cytometry is responsible for high complexity testing and analysis of patient’s whole blood using flow cytometry method.  

 

The shift for this position will be Tuesday - Saturday, 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM. Other shift changes on as needed based on business needs/coverage.

Responsibilities

Note: Other duties may be assigned.  

  • Perform all aspects of flow cytometry daily activities, from pre-analytical to reporting as clinical laboratory scientist. 
  • Set up and operate Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD) cytometers to isolate and test samples according to established standard Operating Procedures. 
  • Process, analyze and interpret data using Flow Cytometer Analysis software. 
  • Prepare standard operating procedures, validation reports and other documents following CLIA/CAP guidelines.  
  • Prepare reagents, perform and document qualification according to established SOPs. 
  • Provide technical support and collaborate with other departments. 
  • Skills to conduct quality control procedures for the tests performed, check standard curves, controls, and reagents to include troubleshooting and maintenance. 
  • Follows troubleshooting procedures to correct deficiencies or problems as they occur with instruments and equipment. 
  • Appropriately addresses analytical and system performance. 
  • Collaborates with equipment vendors to initiate maintenance or repairs of instruments. 
  • Maintain high standards of quality and laboratory safety. 
  • Communicate effectively with internal personnel. 
  • Ability to work Tuesday through Saturday (full time) and requires the ability to work a flexible schedule and overtime hours as needed. 

Qualifications

  • CA CLS (Clinical Laboratory Scientist) generalist license required. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or degree in chemical and biological science required. 
  • Experience in Clinical Laboratory settings required 
  • 1-3 years of Flow Cytometry CLS experience required
  • Experience supervising the work of unlicensed laboratory personnel is desirable.  
  • Strong documentation skills are highly desirable.  

Pay range: $56 - $65/hr
